Content Policy
The rules for work orders, job tips and profiles — so everyone can trust what they read here. Effective September 26, 2026.
The short version
- Post real, open jobs with honest pay.
- Never charge job seekers or ask for sensitive details before an offer.
- No discrimination in who you’ll hire.
- Tips are leads about companies and job sites — not stories about people.
- Break the rules and we remove the post. Scams get the account closed.
Who this covers
Everything members put on The Work Order: work orders, job tips, profiles, photos and resumes. By posting, you agree to follow it. It sits alongside our Subscription Terms and Privacy Policy.
Work orders
If you post a work order, it must be:
- a real job that’s open now, in the city you choose;
- posted under the real company — yours, or the one you’re hiring for;
- listed with the pay you’ll actually offer — not a top rate few people will get;
- accurate about requirements like certifications, TWIC, travel and hours; and
- one listing per job — no duplicates. Tell us when it’s filled and we’ll take it down.
Job tips
- Share something you actually heard or saw about who’s hiring.
- Keep it about the company or job site. Don’t name, criticise or share personal details about individual people.
- Don’t use tips to advertise your own business or services.
Profiles, photos and resumes
- Use your real name and your own details.
- Photos must be your own work, and shouldn’t show other people’s personal information.
- Only list certifications you actually hold.
Never allowed
- Charging job seekers anything to apply, to be hired, or for training, equipment or background checks as a condition of applying.
- Asking for Social Security numbers, bank details, ID copies or payment information before a real job offer.
- Discrimination: stating who you will or won’t hire based on race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation and gender identity), national origin, age, disability or genetic information — for example “young crew only” or “men only.” Genuine job requirements, like a license or the physical demands of the work, are fine when you describe them honestly.
- Pyramid schemes, commission-only sales or “business opportunities” presented as trade jobs.
- Fake or misleading listings, including bait-and-switch jobs.
- Harassment, threats, hate or sexual content.
- Posting someone else’s personal information, or pretending to be someone else.
- Anything illegal, including work that breaks wage laws.
- Spam — unrelated links, ads, or reposting the same thing again and again.
How we review posts
Posts go live straight away so jobs reach people fast. We read every new work order and tip after it’s posted, and check anything that’s reported. Recruiters with the ✓ VERIFIED badge have had their business confirmed by hand.
What happens if the rules are broken
- We remove the post, and usually email you to say why.
- Repeated or serious problems can get your account suspended or closed.
- Scams, and anything that charges or targets job seekers, get the account closed straight away, and we may report them.
- If a recruiter’s account is closed, their subscription is cancelled and the current month isn’t refunded — see the Subscription Terms.
